Mistress Adriana Dusk writes about the role of a slave owner:
Owning a slave is very similar to playing a role of a facilitator in a process of personal and spiritual growth. There are levels to such growth. Learning all my preferences, protocols and rituals is rather simple comparing to rigorous demands I have in the area of inner growth. In my eyes a slave is someone whose journey through life is that of service. In a way it is a journey to “mastery”. I am not using term “mastery” in a Dominant/submissive sense here…I an speaking of emotional/physical and spiritual mastery, a deep and profound dedication to a chosen path.
Watching my slave grow into his true nature has been incredible. Our journey started with me recognizing his potential. Perhaps I knew, I sensed his desire before he was even aware of it. But as time passes, more and more falls into place…doors are opening where there were no doors before, and he walks in, sometimes kicking and screaming, sometimes with resistance, but always with profound level of trust. In a way I am training him, but mostly I am leading. I am helping him grow into his true nature.
